The Pool UFO

On a Friday night in July, something glowing came down over Shanna’s pool — and after the week she’d had, her official position was: they can take her with them.

The dispatch is timestamped Friday, July 17, 2026, 9:21 PM, and it contains no build-up whatsoever. One photograph of her pool at night, one glowing situation above it, and the report, in full: Looks like a UFO is landing in my pool.

Then the second half of the report, which is the half that made the Patrol sit up: It’s been quite a week, so I’m kinda hoping they take me back up with them.

The Patrol has reviewed many first-contact statements. Most witnesses run. Some witnesses film. Shanna’s statement is the only one on record that includes a ride request. The Patrol does not judge this. The Patrol has had weeks like that. The Patrol has, on certain weeks, kept a small bag packed.

The Patrol’s night watch, same pool. Blue brought the pool skimmer net, which the Patrol maintains is standard first-contact equipment. Yellow is waving. Yellow has been waving for some time.

The pool has a record

Before ruling on the light, the Patrol reviewed the pool’s file, and the pool’s file is not short. This is a body of water with a history of incidents:

The rescue (June 2025): A small creature jumped into the pool and could not get out, and Shanna — per her own report — rescued the little guy from drowning. The pool, in other words, attracts visitors who arrive by air and require assistance. The Patrol is simply noting the pattern.

The night swims (September 2026): Two months after the sighting, the field wire carried a two-word dispatch: Night swimming. Whatever came down over that pool in July, it did not scare her out of it. She was back in the water after dark, on purpose, in September. The Patrol classifies this as either bravery or an ongoing arrangement with the visitors, and has decided to be at peace with not knowing.

From the field report

One friend, commenting on the original sighting, advised against accepting the ride. The Patrol has entered this into the record as the voice of reason, and notes for completeness that Shanna did not, in the end, get taken back up with them — the dispatches from the following days show her firmly on the ground in Fort Myers, booking a vacation (see Story One) and conducting herself as a person whose abduction request was either declined or deferred. The Patrol has filed it as deferred. It reads better.

What was the light?

The Patrol investigated with its full scientific division, which is Blue, a flashlight, and a telescope of unknown magnification. Findings:

The light was round. The light was bright. The light reflected in the water exactly the way a landing would. It has never been identified, explained, or seen again — or if it has been seen again, the witness has stopped filing reports, which the Patrol understands completely.

The Patrol’s official verdict

Unidentified, and staying that way. The pool is designated an Official Site of Interest, effective retroactively to the frog rescue. And Shanna’s ride request is awarded the Golden Snout for Most Reasonable Response to a Long Week. Some people see a UFO and call the news. She saw one and checked whether it was going her way.

Story notes: Built from Shanna Kensinger’s Facebook posts — July 17, 2026 (the light over the pool and the ride request), September 6, 2026 (night swimming), June 29, 2025 (the pool rescue), and June 6, 2026 (the sunglasses), with a friend’s comment on the original post represented in spirit. The light, the week, and the hoping are as she reported them. The night watch, the telescope, and the awards are the Patrol’s invention, as usual.
